With 2013 drawing to a close, millions of people all over the world will be making their New Year’s resolution, and a new job could be the first item on someone’s New Year’s agenda. A fresh year can mean a fresh start, and it’s important to start that job search during the Christmas break, because it can mean you gain some job opportunities in January.

It can be difficult to find the time to think about the type of job you want, and the Christmas break can be the ideal opportunity to unwind, and discover your goals and ambitions. You may find there are limited opportunities around Christmas time, and it can be important to wait until January to get the job you desire.

If you’re looking to start a job hunt around Christmas, we’d recommend you use the shut down period as a stage of panning, and work out exactly what you want to do in 2014. You can then have a plan ready when the job market picks up again in January.
